This bike is an evolution of the legendary Ducati 916 that has an even punchier engine and a refined chassis. Whether out on a blast or just staring at the gorgeous curves in the garage, it always makes the rider feel very special. The engine has huge midrange torque that feels lazy and relaxed but launches the motorcycle forward like a Roman catapult. Twins always seem to find the most traction and the Ducati 996 engine is no exception. The top end power is strong - nearly a match for the Japanese four-cylinder motorcycles of the day. These are race motorcycle: what's not needed is not present. But what is there is beautifully crafted. The fast idle button is a treasure. Fairing panels that remove easily in under a minute make Japanese sports motorcycles owners jealous. This bike has Brembo brakes, Showa suspension, lightweight Marchesini wheels, and a Termignoni exhaust along with details like an integrated taillight. The bike had 8,639 miles when pictures were taken, but it is still in the possession of the owner so mileage will be slightly higher.
